Top Ten Issues in Reviewing a Commercial Lease –  presented by Nancy Murray

Commercial leases can be deceptively simple. Whether office, retail or ground leases, they range in complexity with many variables to consider and risks to allocate and manage well.  Nancy will identify key provisions and concerns from both landlord and tenant perspectives to help solo and small firm practitioners with minimal to moderate leasing experience provide efficient legal services to business clients.

Nancy Murray specializes in advising for-profit and nonprofit clients in commercial real estate and community development law, including real estate development and leasing, affordable housing development, land conservation and corporate law.  In over 25 years of practice in Oregon, Nancy has represented national institutional lenders, developers, community-based organizations, and housing and conservation land trusts.  Nancy has served as chair of the Real Estate and Land Use Section of the Oregon State Bar and co-directed the Community Development, Affordable Housing and Nonprofit Law Practicum at Lewis and Clark Law School, in which students were taught and mentored in real estate, nonprofit law and practical skills.  Nancy was recognized by the Law School as “Outstanding Adjunct Faculty.”  Nancy received her BA from Wellesley College and her JD, cum laude, from Lewis and Clark Law School.
